CO-INVESTIGATOR – Assoc. Prof. Dr. ARIYA CHINDAMPORN

Dr. Ariya Chindamporn is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and serves as a Consultant with the Mycology Unit at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, where she previously held the position of Department Head until 2015. She earned her master’s degree in microbiology from Mahidol University in 1980 and later obtained her doctoral degree in Basic Sciences from Nagoya University in 1995. Currently, Dr. Chindamporn is a member of the Asia Fungal Working Group (AFWG), an initiative under the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM). Her research focuses on molecular diagnostics, species identification, epidemiology, and the pathogenesis of emerging medical fungi and parafungi, with a particular emphasis on AIDS-related mycoses and pythiosis.
